general information.

All drums are made using Keller maple or birch shells. Maple for that warm full resonant sound and birch for more attack and a lower fundamental tone.
Double 45 degree bearing edges are cut and finely sanded, sealed and waxed. These edges allow for easy tuning, great resonance and a wide tuning range.
Shells are finely sanded and sealed, inside and out.
Drum exteriors are stained with a gorgeous transparent color which allows the wood grain to show. Two clear coat options are available, high gloss and satin. The choice is personal preference. The gloss is smooth as glass, almost wet looking. The satin finish is softer looking because of the lower sheen. The wood pores are still visible making the drum look like fine furniture.
Smooth contour shaped lugs are standard, but tube lugs and “Ego” lugs are available at a higher cost.
Suspension style tom mounts are used on all hanging toms.
Bass Drums do not have tom holders as a standard option. These can be added.

toms - 6 or ply maple “Keller Shells”, mounted toms include suspension mounts, and floor toms have traditional legs. Gloss or Satin finish, one color stain.

kick- 8 or 10 ply maple “Keller Shells”, bass drums include spurs. Bass mounts to hold toms are not included, but can be added at an extra charge. Gloss or Satin finish, one color stain.

For all kits add $4 per lug for Tube of "Ego" lugs, and add 25% for fades or bursts.

We carry a variety of hardware, and if there's a particular piece you want we are usually able to get it, so just ask! In general we use heavy guage hardware that is sturdy and durable.
